Gear stool

After months of testing, filming and building, The Gear Stool is finally ready for release.  This project taught me HTML, fortified my knowledge of CAD design, grew my SSD collection to 4 TB and brought down my poor Macbook Pro.  This is the most ambitious, most time consuming project that I’ve ever worked on and I am deeply proud of it.  The video above gives an overview of the two different types of stools, depending on your budget and skill level.  If you’d like to get more information on either stool, view the complete build video for either stool or get your own plans, scroll down!

I have 2 different available plans: the simple version on the left and the advanced version on the right. Don’t let the solid top of the Simple Gear Stool fool you: you’ll have all the plans (and video) to make a resin seat (the clear seat below). The difference between the two is entirely cosmetic. Click either image to get information such as tools needed, and quick video builds to see which one suits you best.
